Job Overview
We're a commercial HVAC and kitchen ventilation contractor working with restaurants and commercial/industrial clients across South and Central Texas. We're looking for an experienced technician to handle diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on commercial kitchen exhaust and make-up air (MUA) systems, commercial refrigeration, and rooftop HVAC equipment.
This is strictly commercial and industrial work — no residential calls. You'll be in kitchens, mechanical rooms, and on rooftops, working directly with business owners and facility managers who need equipment running and back up fast.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair commercial kitchen equipment/ Electrical wiring, Hoods, MUA units, and ventilation systems is a plus.
- Service and repair commercial refrigeration equipment (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines)
- Maintain and repair rooftop and commercial HVAC units
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance under our PM service agreements
- Diagnose electrical issues in HVAC/R equipment using multimeters, ohmmeters, and refrigeration gauges
- Understand schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals to guide repairs
- Recover, handle, and charge refrigerant per EPA Section 608 requirements
- Communicate clearly with clients on-site about what's wrong, what it takes to fix it, and what to expect
- Complete diagnosis, repair, and PM report documentation for each job
Requirements
- Proven experience as a commercial HVAC/R technician — kitchen exhaust and MUA experience is a strong plus
- Valid EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling (Prefered)
- Comfortable reading schematics and using hand tools and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, ohmmeter, refrigeration gauges) independently in the fieldWorking knowledge of commercial refrigeration, ventilation, and rooftop HVAC systems
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — you'll be driving a company van between job sites
- Solid customer-facing communication — you'll often be the only face a client sees that day
- Willing to travel to job sites across San Antonio, Austin
- Willing to work on weekends
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
